Weekly Word Of Encouragement: God Walks With Us Now

“For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them,”” (II Cor. 6:16) In this passage Paul is explaining to the Corinthians that God has fulfilled his promise from Leviticus 26:12 “And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be my people.” This promise is fulfilled by the fact that the church is the temple of God. Since we are the temple of God, He walks among us now! This is a return to the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3:8 when God actually walked in the Garden with Adam and Eve. Likewise, God walks with us now, even if it is not completely obvious yet (“we see in a mirror dimly” (I Cor. 13:12).) Keeping this truth in our heart helps us stay connected to His presence.

Application: pick some words from the verse that help you and repeat it to yourself throughout the day or week.
