The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me;

your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever.
It is natural to wonder if everything will turn out okay for us. It is natural to wonder if God has a purpose for us. It is natural to wonder if we will succeed in cooperating with God’s purpose for us.
The Psalmist is confident that Yahweh will fulfill his purpose for him because Yahweh’s love endures forever. The same is true for you. He has a purpose for you and he will fulfill it because he loves you. His highest purpose for us is to become Christlike so that we can be united with God in love through Christ. If we endure in faith to the end then we will become like him when we see Christ as he is (1 John 3:2). His specific purpose for your life may be unknown to you, but you presently have certain roles in which you can shine Jesus’s light, which is an important purpose. Your future is a mystery, but when we abide in Christ then he will accomplish his specific purposes in us in the future.
In Philippians 1:6 Paul expresses his confidence in God’s work in his readers: “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns” (NLT). Even if you don’t know the details or understand the process God is continuously at work in you. If you will fix your eyes on Christ and walk in the Spirit as best you know how then his purposes for your life will come to pass. You do not need to be anxious about this because it is anchored in his everlasting love for you.
